Joy and Hope schools are located in Cap Haitien, Northern Haiti. 200 KM from the capital, Port-au-Prince.

Over the past quarter century, Joy and Hope of Haiti have built 27 Christian schools in Northern Haiti. Although there is public education in Haiti, the government is inconsistent in providing funding. As a result only 20% of children attend school and quite often teachers do not get paid. We currently support 11 schools with the hope of increasing this number.
Only 20% of children in Haiti have the opportunity to attend public school. An educated child is far better equipped to face the challenges of daily living in Haiti, allowing them an opportunity for a better life.
Our special ‘Matching Program’ encourages Haitian parents to pay a percentage of the school operating costs.
We feel this is important, as it stimulates parental engagement.
Unemployment is high, and it can be difficult to find the funds, but parents see the value of a Joy and Hope education, and try very hard to contribute what they can.
Joy and Hope covers the balance. Although every school is different, typically, Joy and Hope covers 60-75% of the operating costs.
